Poll: Does the U.S. have an obligation to take in people affected by Hurricane Dorian?

Hurricane Dorian recently hit the Bahamas leaving thousands without homes, and there’s been a push for the U.S. to take in refugees who have been affected by the storm.

But the Trump administration has stated it won’t give temporary protected status to Bahamian victims of Hurricane Dorian. The protected status would let Bahamians work and live in the U.S. until it is deemed safe to return home. Bahamians can still come to the US if they have the right travel documents, such as Visas, but will not be granted work permits. Here’s what Raiders said.
