1 cup sugar

2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

12 (8 inch) flour tortillas whole or cut into shapes



  1. In a bowl, combine the cinnamon and sugar.
  2. In a heavy-bottom saucepan, add enough oil to come up half the side of the pan and heat up to 320 degrees.
  3. One by one, cook the tortillas until golden brown. It should only take about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
  4. With a slotted spoon transfer bunuelos to a paper towel to soak up excess oil, then sprinkle your cinnamon-sugar mixture over while still warm.
