Raider Echo editor, Ian Floyd, won first place for his editorial on the swim team issues at the Dallas Morning News High School Journalism Day.  The October issue featured “Swim Team Debacle,” the editorial that explained the new district tryout requirements that the swim team members were facing and thanked Superintendent Dr. Curtis Culwell for stepping in to fix the mess that developed.

At Wednesday’s DMN day, Floyd’s editorial was one of three honored, with “Swim Team Debacle” taking first place.  Floyd received a plaque, and his picture will appear in a future issue of the Dallas Morning News.
